With all our scooters, we prioritise these things:

Safety

When you apply our handlebar handbrake system, power to the accelerator is cut, meaning that your portable folding mobility scooter isn’t going anywhere that you don’t want it to. And with Ren’s disk and drum brakes, you have full control wherever you decide to stop. Ren boasts a comfortable folding seat and a height adjustable steering column too, so you can get around in comfort and style!

Convenience

Ren, the folding mobility scooter's handlebar set contains an LCD screen that tells you the battery level, mode, speed and mileage, so you can monitor your Ren with ease. Ren comes with 1 lithium-ion battery which can be removed and connected to a power outlet for hassle-free charging, and offers a huge travel range of up to 35 km / 21 miles from a single charge.

Ren is incredibly travel-friendly; folding compactly for ease of transport, it weighs only 28 kg and can fit snugly in the boot of a car, so you can take it anywhere! Ren has a double motor, 250Wh each, and has three different speed settings, meaning you can set the speed that’s right for you.

And once you’re done, simply collapse the seat, fold your portable mobility scooter, and free-wheel it wherever you want. No complicated folding process, no exertion, and no assembly required; just safety, comfort and convenience all at your fingertips.

Ren, the folding mobility scooter comes with a rear draw-bar with anti-tip wheels, allowing you to store bags or luggage safely behind your seat, without compromising on balance or stability. It also comes with a foldable footrest, allowing you to stretch your legs out for extra comfort, whilst also serving as a handle when freewheeling your folded scooter.

Lift the pin to lock it in place. Ensure it's properly aligned by checking from the front view.
  3. Raise the seat: Open the latch on the back of the seat with one hand.
With your other hand, grip the top of the seat and pull upwards. Release the latch; the seat will click into place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Ren airline friendly?

No, the Ren is not airline friendly. The scooter's dual motors require a high-wattage battery that exceeds the 300Wh limit set by most airlines for lithium-ion batteries. Because the Ren's battery surpasses this capacity, it is not allowed on most flights, making it unsuitable for air travel.

If you plan to travel by air, you can take a look at our Lupin which is the same design but is airline friendly

What is the difference between the Lupin & Ren mobility scooter?

The Lupin and Ren mobility scooters offer distinct features to cater to various preferences and requirements:

  • Motor: The Ren is equipped with two motors, potentially providing greater power and performance compared to the single motor of the Lupin.
  • Brakes: For enhanced safety and control, the Ren features both front and rear brakes, while the Lupin is equipped with a single rear brake.
  • Load Capacity: With a maximum load capacity of 165kg, the Ren is suitable for heavier users, whereas the Lupin supports up to 100kg.
  • Weight: Weighing 28kg, the Ren is slightly heavier than the 23kg Lupin. This weight difference can affect portability and manoeuvrability.
  • Airline-Friendly: The Lupin can be taken on planes when used with its airline battery. The ren is not suitable for airlines as due to its dual motors, it requires more power to drive.

How does the Ren fold?

The Ren folds manually for easy storage and transport:

  • Start by lowering the seat using the latch located on the back of the seat.
  • Next, push down the pin on the handlebar to fold it down.
  • Secure the folded scooter by fastening the strap provided, which holds everything in place.

This folding mechanism ensures that the Ren can be conveniently stored in a compact form when not in use, making it suitable for travel and storage in various spaces.

How do I extend the rear drawbar?

To extend the rear drawbar, locate the pin with a black tip on the right side of the drawbar. Pull this pin out and hold it while you slide the rear drawbar to the desired position.

The drawbar has two available positions. It's essential to use the rear drawbar when ascending inclines, as it houses the anti-tip wheels.

Why does the Ren have two motors?

The Ren is equipped with two motors to handle tougher terrain and hilly areas more effectively than a single motor.

This dual-motor design provides more power and allows the scooter to support a higher user weight, making it versatile and adaptable for various users.

What type are the Ren tyres?

The tyres of the Ren are pneumatic, meaning they are air-filled. Pneumatic tyres offer several advantages, including:

  • Enhanced shock absorption and smoother ride quality, particularly on uneven or rough surfaces.
  • Improved traction and stability, promoting safer handling and manoeuvring.
  • Adjustable tyre pressure to suit different terrains and user preferences, providing flexibility in performance and comfort.

Pneumatic tyres are commonly favoured for mobility scooters due to their ability to enhance overall comfort and ride experience, making them suitable for various outdoor and indoor environments.

Just upgraded

I bought a lupin two years ago best thing I have ever did since having an amputation. I wish I could have had it serviced as I have warn the brakes out and the battery does not hold its charge as well after two years taking the dog for walks.
Just upgraded to a Ren for the more powerful two motor and better brakes I am sure this new one will be even better.

Does what it says on the tin

Had my Ren just over a week now and very impressed with it. I charged it up on the first day and have run it most days since to get some idea of distance on a charge. Well it's done 10 miles now and the battery gauge is down on 3 bars (out of 6) so I don't know how much further it will go. I must add that I have been up a few hills and against a headwind, and I am no lightweight at 17 stone, so actually I'm pleased with the range as I don't think I'll ever do 10 miles in one go, my backside couldn't take it.
I am well impressed with the way it folds and lifts in the car, and it's so easy to take out again. However, I have found that the battery on mine doesn't slide in as easily as the video says, it took a bit of jiggling to get it to sit in the holder, also, standing it up to wheel it like a shopping trolley is a brilliant idea, but I'm only 5'8" and yet when I grab the handle to pull it, the little stable wheels are on the ground before the back wheels meaning I have to stoop slightly to wheel it. I was also surprised that a key is not required to start it, but that's no problem, just an observation. All in all, it's a great little machine and well worth the money. I must add that it's my first scooter as I've only just begun to need one, well it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Great Mobility Scooter

Since having a nasty fall during the Covid epidemic my mobility has become more of a day to day Challange. For months I'd struggled to get around using a walking stick, but that only made my mobility worse.
After a knowledging my mobility was not going to improve significantly I turned to the mobility scooter option.
The choice of scooter is huge and makes choosing the right model for your needs is difficult.
After lots of research I went for the Ren, it folds down and fits easily into the boot of my car.
Plenty of power for hills and Dispite it's size it's pretty comfortable.
I also purchased front and rear storage bags and a rainproof poncho.
Only negative aspect is no option to fit armrests and no reversing beeper.
Overall I'd recommend the Ren if your looking for a convenient folding car boot size scooter that offers good stability, power, mileage and comfort.

Ren scooter

I received delivery of my Ren scooter on Thursday 15/02/24 and due to inclement weather haven’t been able to properly test it until today Monday 19/02/24 I must say I am very impressed with the scooter. I live in a community which is quite hilly and at 18 stone am very pleased with the Rens performance The only downside is I found the seat to be a little small and bit uncomfortable
