from 60 reviewsSince having a nasty fall during the Covid epidemic my mobility has become more of a day to day Challange. For months I'd struggled to get around using a walking stick, but that only made my mobility worse.
After a knowledging my mobility was not going to improve significantly I turned to the mobility scooter option.
The choice of scooter is huge and makes choosing the right model for your needs is difficult.
After lots of research I went for the Ren, it folds down and fits easily into the boot of my car.
Plenty of power for hills and Dispite it's size it's pretty comfortable.
I also purchased front and rear storage bags and a rainproof poncho.
Only negative aspect is no option to fit armrests and no reversing beeper.
Overall I'd recommend the Ren if your looking for a convenient folding car boot size scooter that offers good stability, power, mileage and comfort.
Thank you for inventing the Ren 😁 I haven't been outside on her yet, but I am looking forward to it. I did phone the other day as the basket that I had ordered was missing from the box delivered. Inside of the box was the Ren, the charger in the box, and the envelope with the paperwork. The strap, tool kit and key ring. The paperwork and videos are amazing, they go above and beyond my expectation. I thought that I would email to make sure that you had received my phone call, and that I had given you enough information to check on my order.
I was very impressed with your customer service. Although we did not purchase one of your mobility scooters (too heavy for our needs) we thought the quality of the scooter was superb. The delivery was perfectly on time, the try at home scheme suited us and the return of the scooter was easily arranged. The refund was received promptly. I must also comment on the professional but friendly manner of the staff I spoke to on the telephone.
Both my father & I were so impressed with the company and the service that we received that we felt a need to pass this back to the company and all staff. I will recommend the company & products to everyone I know.
Thank you for the first class customer service.
Recently purchased 2 lupin scooters for husband and dad whom both have mobility issues. Since purchase we have all been out and about at the seafront promenade several times a week. It's lovely to see them enjoying and I can easily pack them both in the boot of the car and assemble in seconds. Fantastic definitely recommend
Our destination was Cape Town, South Africa where our Son and his family reside.
Departing from Heathrow where we left our car in the official Valet Parking at terminal 3, the Lupin was immediately put to use in transferring me from parking to check-in desk. From there to a lounge/departure gate we had booked an assistance wheelchair but we were given the choice of retaining the scooter for the whole time up to the departure gate where it would be taken from us and stowed in the aircraft hold. We took this option which proved very convenient.
On arrival at the departure gate we removed the flight-legal battery for hand-carrying as per the flight regulations and collapsed the scooter securing it with the velcro strap supplied. This enabled the ground crew to manoeuvre it like a suitcase with wheels.
On completion of the flight the scooter was awaiting us at the aircraft door where we quickly reconfigured it to enable me to use it immediately throughout the airport and up to our onward transport. The ease of collapsing the scooter for stowage and then re-configuring for use was a feature greatly appreciated by those having to carry out this task.
During our time in Cape Town and surrounding areas the Lupin performed brilliantly, coping with varying surfaces and many inclines that I would not necessarily have been as confident of attempting with other makes of disability scooters. Similarly the manoeuvrability in shopping malls and supermarkets etc was superb.
There did not appear to be as many disability scooters in South Africa as the UK and the Lupin drew a surprising amount of complementary remarks wherever we went.
Since returning from holiday, this has now been repeated in the UK with several requests for information as to where we obtained it. I was delighted to be able provide the relevant contact details.
In conclusion I would highly recommend this scooter to anyone needing to get from A to B with acceptable comfort and great practicality, particularly in respect of weight and ease of transportation.
I have only just received the Ren today but took her straight out (she’s now called Daisy). I have fought against a mobility scooter for a long time as I’m only 50 but have had to admit I have lost my freedom due to my disability. But literally straight out of the box and she was ready to go and I have fallen in love. Shes very easy to unfold and fold and such a huge pleasure to ride. I have my freedom back and my sense of adventure. She folds up small and now lives happily in my small hallway and fits easily into my car and I’m able to lift her in myself, I will say she is heavy but still manageable if you have good upper body strength. I’m looking forward to taking her to London on the train to visit my daughter and go Christmas shopping with her. Betty & Bertie answered my questions and gave excellent customer service. I foresee Daisy and I having many adventures together. And as you will see from my pictures that will a little imagination you can make the Ren fit you and your life. For the first time in a very long time I’m planning tomorrow not what I will fill my hours with at home but where can I go tomorrow and what can I get up to.
I'm happy to say that the scooter arrived safely and as planned,
Once I remembered that there is no 'electromagnetic' braking (!) I was away! I'm impressed by its sturdy build, simplicity in design,
proper handle bars, the rear wheel drive and efficient brakes. I like the proper throttle feel and the three available speeds.
(The top speed is most definitely for 'off-road' experience - great fun and very useful at times. I speak as an 86 year old!
(When is this country going to come in line with European, and, some other countries' regulations!?)
On a personal note, I like the freewheeling facility, not just because it contributes to battery saving, but because it does demand a certain
alertness when using the scooter in shopping malls especially. (An alertness sometimes missing in conventional scooter users, I've noticed and experienced.)
The design of the scooter is eye-catching, and how good to have some mud guards.
I hope that I'm giving the impression of satisfied delight. Thanks for your help in being able to acquire the Lupin.
I ordered the Zinnia Scooter which arrived exactly when promised in excellent condition. Unfortunately, for various personal reasons, it wasn't for me and I needed to send it back. The return process was simple and entirely facilitated by the company. This was followed by a full refund made within 24 hours and without any fuss. I cannot recommend Betty & Bertie highly enough for customer service. 5 Stars ! - David
Over the moon with my Zinnia. As promised on order gave guaranteed next day delivery 👍😃. Now I can go local shops when hip and knee really sore and weather not suitable on crutches. For me 5🌟 rating. Also my thanks Molly re your manner and information regarding my queeries when I ☎️'d prior on ordering. W.J.MacLean.
I am a disabled veteran who struggles to walk. I looked on the internet specifically for a lightweight 3 wheel scooter that would fit in the boot of my car. I wonted it to cover a certain distance has I go out all day pursuing my hobby which is photography.
What appealed to me was the battery for which the distance and speed suited me to the ground. pun not intended
I am pleased with my Lupin, which I use on buses and trains. I use my Sterling Sapphire for local use as I live in West Yorkshire and we have lots of hills. The Lupin is much easier to put in my V W Golf hatchback. It's a completely different technique riding the Lupin but very enjoyable.
There are no ends to where you can go with this scooter, it is very smart and compact meaning I can leave it in the boot of my car ready to go. I think the controls are very simple to use and the automatic folding is amazing!"
My first thought about my scooter was definitely how attractive it is! The red really stood out to me and I almost feel a little younger too. It's so easy to use and I've even named me scooter Jill and with the help of her, me and my husband are able to do so much more!
