To purchase a mobility scooter free of VAT you need to declare that you are 'chronically sick or disabled' and that the goods or services are for your own personal or domestic use. This is a self-certification system – we do not require proof of your impairment.
A person is 'chronically sick or disabled' if he or she is a person with either:
- a physical or mental impairment which has a long term and substantial adverse effect upon his or her ability to carry out everyday activities or
- a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness.
It does not include an elderly person who is not disabled or chronically sick or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.

The Atlas 4 Folding Mobility Scooter Hoist is an easy to set up portable boot hoist. It is ready to use in just a matter of moments.
The Atlas 4 Folding Mobility Scooter allows you to easily and conveniently get your folding mobility scooter in and out of the boot of your car. Being able to get your scooter in and out of your car with ease allows you the freedom to go where you want and then enjoy it on your scooter.
Setting up the Atlas 4 is incredibly easy. Simply lay the base within the boot of the car and secure it in place. Following this place the hoist inside the base and connect the power supply.
The Atlas 4 does not require permanent fitting or modification to your car, which allows the hoist to be used across multiple vehicles. Meaning you can go away with friends or family and always be able to take your scooter.
Furthermore the hoist can be powered by your scooters battery supply or a portable rechargeable battery pack. All you need to do is insert the power lead into the scooter or battery and up it goes! The Atlas 4 Folding Mobility Scooter Hoist has a max lifting Capacity of 40 KG, it has an adjustable height allowing you to use it on a variety of car boots. This hoist can also operate off your scooters battery or additional portable rechargeable battery back.
*Please note the new Zinnia X Model cannot direct power the Atlas 4 Hoist and the external Battery and Charger for the Hoist will be required.
