The Celebration Of King Charles III
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Whether you will be watching the Coronation of King Charles III from the comfort of your home or celebrating with loved ones at street parties, your mobility scooter will ensure you don’t miss out on this historic event.
This is a very exciting and historic event as for many of us, this is our first experience of witnessing a coronation of a monarch. There will be lots of events happening in the lead up and during this time which will make history. Some may go to London and line the streets to be in and around the buzzing atmosphere, while others will attend street parties and have loved ones round to celebrate in the garden, hopefully in the sunshine!
Here are the events that are happening over the Coronation weekend.
Saturday 6th May
The Coronation Service will take place in Westminster Abbey. The Coronation is a solemn religious service, as well as an occasion for celebration and pageantry.
Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort will arrive at Westminster Abbey in procession from Buckingham Palace, known as ‘The King’s Procession’.
After the service, their Majesties will return to Buckingham Palace in a larger ceremonial procession, known as ‘The Coronation Procession’
At Buckingham Palace, The King and The Queen Consort, accompanied by Members of the Royal Family, will appear on the balcony to conclude the day’s ceremonial events.
Sunday 7th May
A special Coronation Concert will take place at Windsor Castle
The Coronation Big Lunch will take place that brings neighbourhoods and communities together to celebrate with afternoon tea and street parties
Monday 8th May
The Big Help Out will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas
Whatever you have planned, you won’t miss out on any events because your mobility scooter will be making history with you and your loved ones.
