Do Mobility Scooters Need Insurance?

___________________________________________________________________________

The short answer is yes!

Not much is free in the world today, but we do offer you FREE insurance with your first year of ownership of your mobility scooter!

Whether you will be going abroad with your scooter, a trip down to the shops or running your daily errands we’ve got you covered.

Why get insurance for your mobility scooter?

Finding a mobility scooter that is right for you takes time and it becomes a big part of your life. Insurance will keep you exploring new places with the comfort of knowing that if anything happens to your mobility scooter, you will be covered.

What does it cover?

You will be covered for the loss or damage up to £1,500, personal accident up to £1,500, Worldwide cover up to 21 days, third party liability up to £1M, recovery costs and new for old replacement. You will only have to pay an excess fee of £25 if you need to claim anything from your insurance. Some things that aren’t covered with the insurance policy are wear and tear to the scooter, electrical or mechanical breakdown, loss or damage to accessories and any death, loss of one or more limbs or permanent blindness in one or both eyes that occurs 3 months after the accident.

What do you need to do?

To take out an insurance policy, you will need to be certain that you are keeping the scooter and outside of your 14 day return window. Then you need to email or call us to let us know that you would like to take out the insurance. We will then direct you to FISH Insurance - you can call them or follow the steps online to take out a policy which you will need to use your own payment for. Finally, once the policy has been taken out successfully, send us your policy number and we will issue you a refund against your order back to your original method of payment.
